Freedom by Artwell Masuku

Because of power
A nation was dragged

Downhill
Through winding roads
And paths
Of confusion
In their darkness
They cannot separate
Truth from a lie
Freedom cannot
Be whispered
But SCREAMED.

Don’t Judge Me Yet by Abel Dube

They said move aside slightly
when you stand before the light,
it projects scars on the wall
they resemble drops of blood
smeared by an uncanny force
people will join the dots and draw perceptions
and see your nakedness
Don’t walk on the streets you are too broken
people will piece you together
and see your pain
and make you an object of pity.
They said
don’t be you
people may get to know you.
