Sorry by Rudorwashe Kanukamwe

For all the cold hearted words
I said,
For all the tears you shed,
For all the time you spent,
in misery
Now I realize,

I never should have treated
You the way I did
I never should have hurt
you the way I did,
I wasn’t sure until I knew it,
Now I realize,
Where anger ends,
forgiveness begins,
to forgive,
Is to set  two prisoners free,
you and me
I am sorry.

Adiós by Tsitsi Gumbo

Image - theheartmalfunctions.com

sitting....
heart on lap
bloody heart
bludgeoned..sliced
torn..crushed..
my own heart
I let you do it
I held your knifed hand
each deep thrust, I saw..

it beats still....
feeble quiet beats
at least it beats...
and grow they will
my heartbeats...
you'll hear them
only from a distance
never again in your hands.

bye bye heartbreaker!

Even If by Bhekumusa Moyo

Even if I lie
Even if I sigh
Even if I cry
Even if I shy
Even if I try
Even if I....
Even if I ....
Even if I die

I would have anyway.

Mirror Mirror by Heather Dube

When looking in the mirror
My lips smile at the reflexion
But,
My eyes frown at the retrospection...

Regret by Abigail George

When does childhood come to an end
And madness too
A madness that feels
Like a cactus in the sun
The black sheep in the family
The being of madness found
In the exploration
Of the female voice
And the wailing
That can be found there too
Taught me that everything turns to dust

When the Heart Stops by Neil Ellman

When the heart stops for an instant
planets stop, stars sit motionless
rivers turn to ice, atoms freeze in place
in a singular moment of loss
the emptiness of space
hope collapsing into a black hole—
and then as suddenly
it comes out the other side
beginning again with echoing light.
